
Our Healing Collective
The institute is a healing community established on the foundation of healing justice. It consists of spiritualists, visionaries, educators, healing practitioners who employ spiritual healing methods within the community.
OFFICERS

Dr. Kimberly J. Davis, Founder
Dr. Kimberly J. is the founder and executive director. She has over a decade of experience in the holistic healing and wellness space. Since founding the Journey to Wholeness Center LLC in 2014, she has continued to expand her presence and passion for healing-centered practices and scholarship. Dr. Kimberly J. is a spiritual scholar, author, educator, life coach, and master healing practitioner. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and Religion with a concentration in Women’s Spirituality from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a MBA in Finance from DePaul University. Her research centers the lived experiences of African American women as they navigate and heal psychic, intergenerational, and historical trauma through embodied spiritualities. As a scholar and healing practitioner, Kimberly collaborates with women to create pathways towards intergenerational healing through embodiment, empowerment, and education.

Artila Mims, Treasurer
Artila holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and is the treasurer for Journey Healing Institute. She is a career educator, mother, and founder of a multi-cultural children's book club. Ms. Mims is also a proud advocate for neurodivergent children in the Chicagoland area.

Jennifer Petit, Secretary
Jennifer serves as the secretary of Journey Healing Insitute. Jennifer is a community banker, Reiki Master, and holistic healing practitioner.

Brittany Avery-Jones
Brittany has a Masters degree in school counseling and psychology. She is currently a primary school counselor.
Dominique Duncan
Dominique is an educator, healer, and advocate committed to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of women of color. As a board member of the Journey Healing Institute, Dominique helps guide a mission rooted in healing justice—centered on addressing the chronic stressors that impact Black, Indigenous, and women of color through healing-centered education, resources, and technologies.
With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education and family support, Dominique holds two master’s degrees and is currently pursuing an Education Specialist degree in School Psychology. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and a deep respect for ancestral wisdom.
Dominique’s spiritual journey began over seven years ago and continues to shape her personal and professional life. As a certified Level 2 Reiki Master, she blends intuitive healing practices with psychological insight, honoring the interconnectedness of emotional, spiritual, and community wellness.
Through her role with the Journey Healing Institute, Dominique brings both heart and expertise to creating spaces where women of color can heal deeply, reclaim their power, and rise with intention.
Jerone Morris
Jerone is a career K-12 educator whose expertise is in childhoold literacy.
Keshia White
Keshia is a college admissions counselor and professional photographer. She is the founder and owner of K.White Shades of You.
Kira Bedford
Kira has a Masters Degree in Education and is currently pursuing a PhD. She is a career educator and the founder of NeuroCatalyst Academy.
Ndidi Okakpu
Ndidi is the founder of N. Okakpu Consulting. She is an expert in establishing non-profit organizations, including fundraising programs.
Wanda Boelter
Wanda is president of WB Marketing and is the host of her own radio show, He Said She Said with Wanda B. on Intellectual Radio.com.
