Dr. Kimberly J. Davis

Dr. Kimberly J. Davis

Founder & Executive Director

Dr. Kimberly J. is the founder and executive director. She has over a decade of experience in the holistic healing and wellness space. Since founding the Journey to Wholeness Center LLC in 2014, she has continued to expand her presence and passion for healing-centered practices and scholarship. Dr. Kimberly J. is a spiritual scholar, author, educator, life coach, and master healing practitioner. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and Religion with a concentration in Women’s Spirituality from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a MBA in Finance from DePaul University.

Kira Bedford

Kira Bedford

Board Member

Kira is an educator deeply committed to transforming the way we serve children—especially those who, like her grew up facing countless challenges and misfortunes. She was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and now reside in Arizona, where she continues to follow her passion for education, equity, and advocacy.

Dominique Duncan

Dominique Duncan

Board Member

Dominique is an educator, healer, and advocate committed to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of women of color. As a board member of the Journey Healing Institute, Dominique helps guide a mission rooted in healing justice—centered on addressing the chronic stressors that impact Black, Indigenous, and women of color through healing-centered education, resources, and technologies.

Brittany Avery-Jones

Brittany Avery-Jones

Board Member

Brittany is a school counselor for the Chicago Board of Education. She has a Masters in Counseling Psychology and advocates for the mental and physical wellness of Black students.

Artila Mims

Artila Mims

Treasurer

Artila holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and is the treasurer for Journey Healing Institute. She is a career educator, mother, and founder of a multi-cultural children's book club. Ms. Mims is also a proud advocate for autistic children in the Chicagoland area.

Keshia White

Keshia White

Board Member

Keshia White is a certified Reiki Level 1 practitioner and holistic healing practitioner with training in energy work and intuitive development. Her approach integrates gentle, heart-centered techniques to support balance, clarity, and overall well-being. She brings over 14 years of experience in collegiate-level education and currently serves as a Senior Admissions Counselor. She has also taught in both public and private elementary school settings

Jerone Morris

Jerone Morris

Board Member

30+ year career educator, community activist, and educational consultant specializing in primary literacy. His work is influenced by African-centered philosophies that recover Africa’s pre-colonial cultural legacy

Jennifer Petit

Jennifer Petit

Secretary

Jennifer serves as the secretary of Journey Healing Institute. Jennifer is a community banker, Reiki Master, and holistic healing practitioner.

Wanda Boelter

Wanda Boelter

Board Member

Wanda B is an entrepreneur, radio personality, and program director for Intellectual Radio.com. She is also a career marketing and advertising expert.

Ndidi A. Okakpu is an accomplished leader specializing in community development and social enterprise. With a rich background in business, nonprofit management, fundraising, and community relations, she is committed to fostering sustainable models for growth toward thriving communities. Ndidi's work focuses on holistic community development, addressing the needs of the most underserved populations
